Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
CloudSlash ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website, SaaS platform, CLI tools, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and authentication credentials (via SSO providers like GitHub, Google, or SAML).
Cloud Infrastructure Data: When you connect your cloud accounts, CloudSlash reads resource metadata (resource IDs, types, regions, tags, usage metrics) to perform waste analysis. This data is processed locally by the CLI or within your infrastructure. For SaaS users, this data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage analytics (pages viewed, features used, error rates) to improve the Service. This never includes your cloud resource data or credentials.
Billing Information: For paid plans, we collect payment information through our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To perform cloud waste analysis and generate optimization recommendations
- To send transactional emails (account notifications, security alerts)
- To communicate product updates and security advisories
- To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
3. Data Storage and Security
CLI users: All data stays on your machine. CloudSlash CLI processes everything locally and never sends your cloud data to our servers unless you explicitly enable SaaS sync.
SaaS users: Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We host on Cloudflare infrastructure with SOC 2 compliance. Your cloud credentials are stored using industry-standard secret management and are never logged.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or cloud infrastructure data to third parties. We may share anonymized, aggregated usage statistics for product improvement purposes.
We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CloudSlash, our users, or the public.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Cloud infrastructure data processed by the SaaS platform is retained according to your plan's data retention policy. You may request data deletion at any time by contacting us.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise these rights, contact us at drskyle8000@gmail.com.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Theme preferences are stored in localStorage.
8. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services: Stripe (payment processing), Cloudflare (hosting and CDN), GitHub/Google/SAML (authentication). Each service has its own privacy policy governing their use of your information.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
